Trauma-informed practice grows across London
More than 5,000 practitioners across London have now taken part in Thrive LDN’s Gift of Reconnection trauma-informed practice training, highlighting growing demand for approaches that prioritise psychological safety and wellbeing.
Spanning four modules – Bronze, Silver, Gold and Family Liaison – the training has collectively generated over 12,000 hours of engagement, reflecting both the scale and depth of participation across the capital.
A recent review of participants shows strong cross-sector uptake. The voluntary and education sectors represent the largest cohorts, followed closely by colleagues working in healthcare and local authorities. This breadth of engagement underlines the increasing recognition that trauma-informed approaches are essential across all frontline services.
Importantly, the programme is not only reaching practitioners but driving meaningful change. With a 31% completion rate across all three core modules, participants report actively applying the frameworks in their roles – helping to create psychologically safe environments for service users, while also adopting practical self-care strategies to support their own wellbeing.
This growing movement aligns with wider evidence highlighting the benefits of trauma-informed systems. Research in recent years has shown that embedding these approaches can improve service outcomes, workforce resilience and user trust – particularly in urban settings like London where services often support diverse and complex needs.
