Bounce Forward

We believe resilience is needed now, perhaps more than ever. So, Bounce Forward is a national charity, helping to answer some questions about resilience.

What is resilience?

Having resilience means dealing with setbacks and making the most opportunities. Bounce Forward focus on resilience in the context of thriving and being able to be the best we can in the small everyday moments.

Can resilience be taught?

Yes, resilience skills can be developed and mastered to help you achieve the things that matter most to you. Bounce Forward believes the personal development of young people is as important in society, as academics.

Am I already resilient?

Yes, everyone has a certain amount of resilience, some of us have more natural resilience than others. Whether we are already resilient or not very resilient at all we can build our resilience, so it’s a like a muscle helping me to bounce forward in life.

Is resilience about being perfect?

No! Resilience is not about getting everything right. It’s about making mistakes, learning from setbacks, muddling through sometimes BUT always bouncing forward.

Our mission?

To empower young people to develop human connections, hope and optimism, and self-awareness and compassion, for a better world.

“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.” (Marie Curie)
