The Gift of Reconnection: trauma informed family liaison training resources
We’re pleased to host a new module in the Nicola Lester Gift of Reconnection trauma-informed practice training series on trauma informed family liaison.
Trauma informed family liaison practice is a bespoke pre-recorded course which lasts around 75 minutes in length. The release of this training coincides with Children’s Mental Health Week 2025.
Overview of training
The training module is focused on providing a framework for engaging with families following a traumatic bereavement and the needs of bereaved families in the immediate aftermath.
The training module and supplementary resources help provide practitioners with the skills and confidence to equip them to engage with those impacted by a sudden death. It offers guidance for best practice from point of death notification onwards.
In addition to the pre-recorded training workshop, included are a range of specialist guidance for educators and educational settings to support their response to a traumatic bereavement. These evidence-based guidelines are intended to support educational settings to respond in the immediate aftermath of a traumatic bereavement and to plan for the longer term.
The training is complementary to the core Gift of Reconnection training.
