On behalf of Thrive LDN, Mental Health Foundation carried out research in 2016 to map determinants and mental health inequalities in London boroughs. The report shows areas of highest risk for poor mental health in London by borough. Evidence indicates deprivation and social inequalities heavily contribute to this.
In response, we have held over 30 Problem Solving Booths, as a way to have conversations about mental health and wellbeing in public spaces, and delivered 17 community workshops in partnership with Mental Health Foundation. Each borough received a report from their workshop and a summary of findings from all 17 workshops will be available soon.
We are now working with local authorities and communities in London on what to develop next. Some boroughs are developing local Are we OK…? campaigns and others are setting up local Thrive partnerships and mental health prevention pilots.
