Streets Ahead: Building a Mindful Metropolis

As part of the ON EDGE: Living in an Age of Anxiety exhibition, we recently helped to co-facilitate a workshop aimed at young people to consider the impact that living in a city like London has on our mental health.
The workshop asked participants what impact does living in a city like London have on our mental health? Are factors like access to green spaces, high-rise housing, social inequality and pollution making us more anxious?
Around 100 people took part in the workshop building their interpretation of a mindful city scape out of card, paper and other materials.
This event is part of ON EDGE: Living in an Age of Anxiety, a free exhibition and events programme at Science Gallery London exploring the causes of and responses to anxiety in contemporary society through art, design, psychology and neuroscience.
