Thrive LDN's winter resilience work praised at London Health Board
The London Health Board (LHB) met today, Wednesday, 26 April. Included within a busy agenda was an update on the work of Thrive LDN and partners.
The LHB is a non-statutory group chaired by the Mayor of London comprising elected leaders and key London professional health leads. It was established in March 2015 and meets four times a year, one meeting of which will be given over to an annual conference. Thrive LDN is supported by the Mayor of London and led by the London Health Board partners.
Thrive LDN director, Dan Barrett, delivered the key points from Thrive LDN paper which included a high-level summary of Thrive LDN’s 2023-24 Strategic Plan. The plan was endorsed by board members.
Additionally, Prof. Kevin Fenton, Health Advisor to the Mayor of London and Regional Director for Public Health in London, praised Thrive LDN’s delivery of partnership work and response in supporting Londoners facing increased cost-of-living pressures in recent winter and spring months.
Speaking at the meeting, Prof Fenton said: “It’s been an extremely challenging time for the city and for regional health and care partners. The work that Thrive LDN was able to accomplish and your agility to pivot to different campaigns, and ensuring your messages were relevant and appropriate was phenomenal.
“I’d like to convey our deepest thanks from London health partners on the work you do… I’m especially excited about the place-based work you’re planning [for the year ahead].”
