Suicide prevention training – free webinars for London students and higher education staff

As the new academic year gets underway, Thrive LDN is working with London Higher to facilitate online suicide prevention training and learning sessions.
Each September, thousands of young people move to London to study or work. For many, living away from home and potentially managing their own health for the first time which can be overwhelming.
Two online training webinars will explore the range of support and services available for everyone in London’s higher education sector, one aimed for those working in the sector in any capacity and another for those studying at any London university or higher education institution.
Both sessions will highlight and guide attendees through the free, online suicide prevention training available through the #ZerosuicdeLDN campaign, so everyone is better prepared to know what to do if someone around them is in crisis. The sessions are free-to-attend.
The sessions will also involve relevant charity and mental health organisations, including The Mental Health Foundation and Zero Suicide Alliance, who have developed resources both for students but also higher education professionals more generally.
