Supporting grassroots and community groups

In July 2020, we awarded more than £170,000 to 24 community and grassroots projects across London to help support the mental health and wellbeing of those who are experiencing higher levels of unfair treatment and discrimination.
You can learn more about the projects and hear from the amazing people involved here.
Listening to and understanding more about the additional support the teams behind the Right to Thrive funded projects would find beneficial, we’ve put in place a series of new initiatives.
The key issues raised were around financial support, mental health support for staff and your community, and peer to peer networking. The following initiatives and events take these issues on board. We’re pleased to be able to open these opportunities up to other London grassroot organisations and charities.
We’re particularly keen to encourage participation from groups or charities who support the mental health and wellbeing of more marginalised and disadvantaged communities. The sessions will benefit community leaders or those who are directly working to support their communities during the pandemic. Sign up via the links below or contact us for more information.
The Jen Group peer-peer support programme
Thrive LDN is working with The Jen Group to begin to facilitate a peer-peer support programme for grassroots projects.
The first engagement session is taking place on 9th February 2021 from 2pm – 5pm via Zoom. The event will include BSL interpreters.
Many community and grassroots projects across London are experiencing complex challenges. The pandemic has forced community groups to work in new and innovative ways. This half day session is an opportunity for local organisations across London to come together to discuss common themes and explore solutions.
It’s an opportunity to network, identify new partnership and could result in smaller peer-to-peer groups or buddy scheme groups which will be continued to be facilitated by the Jen Group following the event to offer ongoing support.
- Registration can be found here.
